How to find a job in Scotland

Start with the work you can already do. A job title from another country may not match the Scottish title. Write the tasks: serving customers, cleaning a ward, picking orders, fixing machines, speaking another language with clients. Employers hire the tasks.

Look at where you can actually travel. Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, Fife and Aberdeen are different journeys. A role you cannot reach on time is not a real option.

Use a recruitment desk and apply to employers directly. Registration is not a job. Check that a vacancy names the employer, the place of work, the hours and the pay. If those are missing, ask before you share documents.

You do not need to pay someone to find you a job. A real Scottish recruitment agency is paid by the employer. If a person asks you for a fee, a gift card, or your bank password, stop and read the scam guide.

If you are not sure you have the right to work in the UK, say so. inthire can tell you what an employer is likely to ask for. We do not give immigration or visa advice.
